WInter Wonderland

There was no way I was going to miss out... on my day out! The fluey thing had become manageable, and I could be away from the "bathroom" aka toilet, for more than a couple of hours at a time. With the help of a muscle relaxer, the spasticity was manageable too. So...onward, life's too short to spend it indoors!

Thanks to Hubbers, and a toboggan (my mode of transportation), I got out for a "walk" on the weekend. It was a gorgeous afternoon, sunny and warm, minus 9 Celsius (15F), yes that's warm for this time of year in our part of Canada. We had a snowfall on Friday, 25cm (11 inches), and the forest was really pretty.

I wasn't feeling like driving all the way to the lake, luckily we have a conservation area and a river about 2 blocks from our house. The Thames River actually. Well I do live in London...Ontario that is!

A badelynge of Mallards keeping warm.

Ice flowing down river.

I love the blue shadows of winter.

 Cold feet?

We were only out for about an hour, but it was great! I got my photo fix, and being outside always makes me feel better!

CHEERS!

  1. I'm so glad you were able to get out. And, I always loved tobaggans! The cold, not so much, but you can't get the beautiful snow without it. Hmmm. My favorite photos were the path in the forest and the lone duck on the lake, but they were All beautiful. Congratulations!

    1. I always thought toboggans were for just swooshing down hills. I felt a little silly being hauled on the paths on one, but I wouldn't have been able to walk on the trails. Hubber's can be so resourceful!

  2. Doesn't getting out, somehow make us feel better? So glad you could enjoy the beauty of snow around you. Like the photo Hubbers took, Looks like you are standing strong in all that snow. (I think I would have fallen into the snow)

    1. I always feel so much better when I am out in nature. I fell a couple of times, but I told Hubbers I would have to kill him if he took any photos of that!

  4. Love those picture and so thrilled to see that you did get a chance to go out and enjoy your beautiful surroundings. Could you please send some of that snow to us?? It really cold and grey out side so we have a lot of dangerous black ice on our streets. When having snow, you can at least se where it is - and it ligts up at night instead of pitch-black darkness.

    1. We are lucky, we live in the "burbs", so there is a lot of underdeveloped land nearby.
