Outside my window: It's busy at the feeders. There is so much action, that I often only catch the "tail ends" of it all. The back end of a junco at the feeder, and a headless cardinal in flight.
Pondering: Sweet Pea 's birthday party and gift. My baby girl will be 32 at the end of the month! Wow,where did the time go?
I am reading: "I'm Your Man: The Life Of Leonard Cohen" by Sylvie Simmons. I am not much of a biography reader, but I am a huge Cohen fan. A couple of years ago, we saw him in concert here, he was 75 years old at the time, and he was awesome.

What made me
Looking forward to: The weekend. I haven't been out and about for a while because it has been so cold. It's supposed to be mild on Sunday (+2 degrees). Hubber's and I are going to take a short road trip to Port Stanley, on Lake Erie. I am hoping for some photo opportunities!
My current project: Making a "Fluffkin" for Beep. That's what I am calling these funny little sock critters I make.
She really likes this first one I made, and has put in a request for one of her own.
Plans for the rest of the week: Finish that "Fluffkin" or I'll be in BIG trouble with Beepster. Organise the kitchen "junk" drawer, where does all that stuff come from anyway? Fold the laundry, I'm great at throwing it from one machine to another, but the folding...not so much. Start, and hopefully finish Sweet Pea's birthday card.
What I need to remember: Where I put my glasses. Yes, it's an ongoing issue. I may soon give in, and tie them around my neck as Hubbers has suggested. He got me a really nice chain thingy "glasses necklace", but gee, aren't those just for old ladies!
Dinner tonight: Burrito Casserole
It's similar to lasagne, only it has all Mexican ingredients. Since Beef is not allowed on the Swank Diet, I use ground chicken instead, but I am not omitting the cheese or sour cream! So...thwooooooot.
One of my favorite things: Flip flops. My footwear of choice. I have at least 20 pair. Most of them cost less than 10 dollars. I just received an awesome pair. They are Ugg's, and we are talking superior flip here, nubuck leather and an arch support! These ain't 10 dollar flops. Woohoo, I'll have a pair in every colour please!
Grateful for: The fireplace and hot chocolate, on cold winter days.
A picture I am sharing from my Photo blog:
I did manage to get a shot of a whole bird the other day.

Where does the time go? My little girl will be 26 soon.....really neat photo of the bird in flight! It will be nice to get out with hubbers...for y'all. I look forward to seeing your pics
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to get out of this house for a while Kim!
DeleteOoooooh, I do love that photo with the red beak. And, I hate to break it to you, but entry into the old category is something we are granted, no matter how we kick and scream. We just pretty it up the best we can.
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm not good at kicking anymore, but I can still scream!
DeleteGorgeous photos -- as always! Yikes! Flip-flops -- I haven't been able to wear them in years -- I'd kill myself! And I'm with Judy on that "old" bit -- just do it as gracefully as possible.
ReplyDeletePeace,
Muff
Flip flops are the only footwear I can manage comfortably. With the paresthesia and nerve pain in my right foot, anything else drives me crazy. I would go barefoot everywhere if I could. In winter I can manage Ugg boots when outside.
DeleteThe female cardinal picture...just breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteYour dinner looks so good! Have you tried Skillet Scallops from the Swank Diet book? We're having them again tonight. Very tasty. I'm also going to use the last of the cornbread mix and make, well, cornbread.
Dinner was yummy! No, I haven't tried the scallops. It's difficult to get fresh ones here, and the fozen ones are often mushy. I love cornbread.
