Pondering: How the homeless manage to survive in this weather. We do have a few shelters here in the city, but they are often filled to capacity.
Looking forward to: The day after tomorrow. The tooth will have been yanked, and my anxiety level will go way down. Gee, I am such a baby when it comes to dental issues. I decided not to be "put to sleep" for the extraction. I think the risks of the anaesthesia outweigh the benefits. I will of course be frozen. I will let you know how that worked out .
Fixating on: Ya... I'm still on the "fat" thing and trying to lose weight.
What I need to remember: No one has ever died or become seriously harmed by having a tooth pulled...right? (See, Hoping for)
My current project: I have several on the go. I'm still making birthday cards, and that sock critter from last week is lolling around on the craft table. I am also working on my first quilt!
Hoping for: No complications after the dental procedure. If having a tooth pulled is no big deal, then why do I have to sign a waiver that states I understand that "the removal of the tooth may result in jaw fracture, or the main nerves in the jaw may be bruised, causing numbness of the jaw, lips, chin or teeth, or the sinuses may be penetrated, which will allow blood to seep into the sinus cavity". I know they are just covering their butts in case any of those things happen and I want to sue them, but geeeee, talk about scaring a person. Acckkkkkk......
Listening to: "Some Nights" by Fun, Love the song..."Tonight We Are Young" A modern song that can rekindle the bravado of my youth, when I really did think "we could set the night on fire". Listen Here, (you can skip the advertisement in 5 seconds).
Dinner Last Night: Roast pork tenderloin with a port wine reduction, scalloped potatoes, green beans sautéed in butter, garlic and lemon, and a mixed green salad with balsamic dressing. Dessert, Purdy's ice wine truffles. Ya, I blew the MS diet all to heck, but it was my last supper before I get the tooth pulled.
In the kitchen: I am making potato soup, and butternut squash soup, and chicken soup. I expect soup will be on the menu for a couple of days after the tooth extraction, I REALLY hate canned soup, and Hubbers cannot cook.
What made me
Grateful for: My family doctor for prescribing anti anxiety drugs for me to take before they pull my tooth. He said I could take two an hour before the procedure, and two when I get to the dental office. He said I will be putty in their hands, and won't remember a thing. I love you Dr. D!
Photos I'm sharing:
Stoney Braveheart in all his cuteness
Male Downy woodpecker, whom I have named "Ralph"
Cheers!

Oh, how I can relate to the anxiety! You will be just fine; bless your doctor, indeed, for giving you relax-y drugs. Your "last dinner" sounds wonderful...
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures, as always. Glad to see Stoney is still around!
I had a tooth pulled few years back and I was such a sissy about it really. Well that is what KRP's brother the dentist said as he referred me to the tooth puller.
ReplyDeleteAfter all was done having no tooth was much better than having the infection. It all worked out ok but I was sure nervous and scarred before hand.
Ralph is beautiful!
You can do it. I know you will get over this hurtle it's the voice inside telling us we can go for it.
ReplyDeletedont worry hon, the tooth thing will be fine, just watch how many of those happy pills go down!
ReplyDelete(PS) You looked great!

The tooth pulling can't be as bad as walking out in -25 degree weather. Or am I betraying my Florida wimpiness here? Dunno. Just make sure you come out okay. Too many people love you.
ReplyDeleteI know the anxiety is awful...before you even go. I dont think anyone dies from a tooth
ReplyDeletelove the photos
